The Mississippi Department of Revenue offers basic health coverage through the State and School Employees’ Life and Health Plan for Legacy Employees and Horizon Employees. Legacy Employees are those employees that were initially hired before 1/1/06 and Horizon Employees are those employees that were hired on or after 1/1/06. The State Health Plan is self-insured, meaning that the State is responsible for paying claims and other expenses associated with providing health care services.
You may choose: “Base” Coverage or “Select” Coverage
The State pays 100% of Legacy employee’s premium ($412 monthly) for Employee Only, Base Coverage or if the Legacy employee chooses Employee Only, Select Coverage, the State will pay $412 monthly and the employee pays $20 monthly.
The State pays 100% of the Horizon employee’s premium ($412 monthly) for Employee Only, Base Coverage or if the Horizon employee chooses Employee Only, Select Coverage, the State will pay $412 monthly and the employee pays $43 monthly
The State Health Plan also includes a Prescription Drug Program benefit. CVS Caremark is the pharmacy benefits manager.
